Air New Zealand runs a number of regular flights daily into and out of Gisborne direct with both Auckland and Wellington. Rental cars are available to be hired in Gisborne and can be conveniently picked up and dropped off at the Gisborne airport.
There are three main roads which lead to the retreat the first being state highway 2 which comes from the north traveling through Tauranga, Whakatane and on to Gisborne. The second main route is from the South from Napier on State highway 2 this road travels north to Wairoa and connects with the Napier Taupo road which allows access from the centre of the north island. The third and most scenic but slowest route is via state highway 38 which travels via Murapara past the beautiful lake Waikaremoana.
